April 23, 2006 -- We Now Return to Our Regularly Scheduled Lives (mp3 file, 6.0MB)

(Luke 24: 1-19) Having endured Lent and Easter, we now return to the ordinary drone of our everyday lives. In this sermon we wrestle with the notion that "the first work of faith is memory work." As we go back to our normal routines, it will be important to remember that Easter is not about where we are going "someday." It's about where we are today! It's not about a "living life" after we are dead -- its about "living life" right here, right now. It's not simply about where we will be in some tomorrow; it's about how we will live today -- and every day.

April 16, 2006 -- Easter -- From the Outside In (mp3 file, 5.9MB)

(Mark 16: 1-8) We all long to hear stories of resurrection! What if the stone that was rolled away that first Easter morning was done so not to let Jesus out, but so that we can see in? Resurrection is all around us, if we will just have courage to look and see.

April 9, 2006 -- Palm Sunday -- A Passion for the Possible (mp3 file, 5.8MB)

(Mark 10:46 – 11:11) Like Bartimaeus we have two choices: Go our own way, our faith and perseverance having us well. Or, having gained your sight, OUR way doesn’t look so appealing anymore. If this is the case, perhaps it's time to try another way.

April 2, 2006 -- The Work of Love (mp3 file, 5.2MB)

(Philippians 2:1-11) As followers of the one that we call Christ, we are to focus on the centrality of the cross – the ultimate example of humility & service. In a world where no one seems to be prepared to give anything to anyone, may we be willing to give everything to everyone! We hold the ministry of Christ in our hands and hearts. The responsibility in enormous -- almost as big as the confidence and trust that God places in us!

March 26, 2006 -- Naked Attention (mp3 file, 6.3MB)

(John 3: 1-8) There is a longing in many people's lives and journeys of faith for authenticity -- we want relationships that are real: encounters with people who are genuine, expeirneces with God that are indisputable. Deep within us all is a child of God. When we dare to risk going inward and tapping into that person, like the Velveteen Rabbit, we become REAL. And, as the skin horse reminds us, once you are real, you can never be ugly again!

March 19, 2006 -- Strong in the Broken Places (mp3 file, 6.4MB)

(Mark 8:31-38) We know it to be true physically, that when a bone breaks it will, eventually, if treated correctly, become strong in the broken places. But what about the emotional or spiritual broken places in our lives? If you ask anyone who has a deep and abounding faith they will tell you that it was in times of trouble when they grew the most, because they discovered that the promise of scripture to be true: the worst things are never the last things.

March 12, 2006 -- Deep Joy in a Shallow World (mp3 file, 4.4MB)

(Matthew 5:1-12) Looking at the Beatitudes from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, we look closely at what it means to be "blessed." This is deeper than merely happiness, but a Godly joy that always comes in the side door, not when we are seeking it directly, but when we are doing that which brings delight to God.
