FCC Is Back to Hybrid Worship!

In-person worship has resumed

The Re-Opening Task Force, Elders, Administrative and Ministry Councils have agreed it is time to return to worship in-person AND on-line. We have studied the current COVID case levels and the vaccination rates in Contra Costa County and feel confident that when we continue to follow protocols we established previously, we will be safe to worship together again. We will return to in-person worship on November 14.

Both the wooden doors and the glass/metal doors will be open for entry to the Sanctuary and Narthex. Each door will have a Welcome Table for all to visit before entering the sanctuary.

For everyone’s safety, please:

• Sign in to help us with contact tracing should anyone become ill.

• Wear a mask indoors regardless of vaccination status. Masks should only be temporarily removed while taking communion and by those people actively participating in the worship service from the chancel or band area. Disposable masks will be available for those who forget to bring their own.
  IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to current county regulations, everyone, including worship participants and the band, will be required to wear masks at all times except during communion. Because of this, the band will not be performing until the mask restrictions are relaxed, as it is too difficult to sing well while wearing masks.

• Use hand sanitizer

• Select a wristband to indicate your comfort with contact and interactions (Green = fully vaccinated, comfortable with hugs/handshakes and conversation closer than 6 feet; = partially or fully vaccinated, comfortable with a fist bump or wave and conversation up to 6 feet; Red = unvaccinated or comfortable with a wave and conversation at 6 feet). We will gather in the breezeway for conversation after service, so your wristband will be helpful in letting others know your comfort level. Before you leave the breezeway, please place the wristband in the basket outside so they can be sanitized before the next Sunday.
  IMPORTANT NOTE: During the Omicron surge, everyone will be on “red wristband” protocol!

• Maintain social distancing on the grounds and inside the building (except for members of common house- holds/pods) as appropriate to your and others’ wristband preferences. In the Sanctuary, certain pews will be marked off as unavailable to encourage social distancing. Please do not attempt to enter the band area.

• Use the pre-filled communion sets (we have easier ones now) or bring your own elements for communion.

Other items to note

Worship & Wonder for the children WILL be held during worship in the Plambeck Room to allow for social distancing among the children. A HEPA air purifier will be used in the Plambeck Room for extra protection.

The Nursery will be open for children. Cleaning of the room and toys is complete and a HEPA air purifier will be used in the Nursery for additional air filtration protection.

Coffee, tea and snacks will NOT be available. We will continue to evaluate the safety of providing these and will resume drinks and snacks at a later date.

Sunday School is NOT being offered at this time.

We will continue to livestream the service on Zoom and on Facebook Live. You will still be able to interact in the service if still worshiping from home. Details have been emailed to our members and friends, but you can join us on Facebook Live. We also record the services and post them on our website on our sermons page.
