First, Books and then Movies…What’s Next?

In the summer of 2019, First Christian Church in Concord took the bold step to live into who we say we are—an anti-racist and pro-reconciling congregation. We read books together and watched documentaries and learned together about the ways in which race and racism have shaped who we are as a nation and the impact of institutional/systemic racism on all of us. We have spent over a year learning together and now we want to know how you want to move forward in 2022. How do we work to actively engage in creating the Beloved Community—a community in which everyone is cared for, absent of poverty, hunger, and hatred. Join us as we brainstorm our various next steps on October 27 from 7:00-8:30 PM on Zoom. We will refine the list of ideas and identify our next steps for 2022 on November 10.
