October 25, 2026: A Change of Heart

Throughout 2026, our stewardship theme, “There Our Hearts Will Be,” rooted in Matthew 6:21, has guided our worship. Sermons including “Turning Toward the Light: Generosity, Intimacy, and Trust,” “The Centrality of Love,” “Living Our Best Life,” “Hidden Treasure, Open Cross,” “Do Not Let Your Hearts Be Troubled,” “Open Hearts, Open Hands,” and “Subversive Stewardship” have called us to faithful stewardship. This week, on Commitment Sunday, when we submit our estimates of giving, we turn to Joel 2:1–18 — an unexpected stewardship text more commonly heard on Ash Wednesday. Together, let us consider how this passage may lead our community of faith toward “A Change of Heart.”
